Ordinarily the source material. Simply overall i would go for the manga because i tend to fastforward when i watch anime.
level 1
I used to watch the anime commencement and and then outset reading the manga afterwards. If the anime left out information then I volition start from the beginning of a manga. Otherwise I just find the chapter that the anime leaves off of. Recently I just read instead of scout.
level 2
This. Every bit much as I love anime, information technology'southward only very time consuming.
level one
I recently started collecting manga verses reading scanlations. Some series aren't complete yet simply the anime is finished. Plus there are some anime I started showtime. I was curious equally to what other readers practice. In general I think I'd read the manga beginning. But I guess it depends on how skillful a series is and how impatient I am.

I watch and read the first couple capacity/episodes of said story and so decide from there wich medium i employ. I as well double-check to see if the adaptation is faithfull to the source textile, if non i don't bother with it.

My priority list is: visual novel > manga > anime
VNs are normally the one nigh faithful to the writer'due south intentions. And while I similar animation and everything, the sorry fact is, a lot of the skillful parts would exist cut during the animation process, so the manga would be more "full" in terms of content.
LN not stated in my list because I don't really similar it.

Depends on which I find beginning, really.
level ane
In that location are some anime with no manga like Zankyou no Terror. In normal circumstances I usually watch the anime get-go to get a feel for the story. If I go hooked I rampage the anime. If the manga is withal ongoing than I would read the manga and catch up after watching all episodes of the anime

Anime first, ever (if both are out).
I would rather become from less material to more fabric, then the other way around. Same reason why I spotter the movie before reading the book if possible. If I read the book first, the movie would almost likely disappoint me (especially if it cut out a part that I liked).
level ane
If I had the selection, I would lookout anime first. That said, it commonly ends upwards that I read the manga earlier the anime is even announced.
I don't know why, but reading the source ordinarily ruins the anime for me. I enjoy the source even more after I sentry the anime.
level 1
A little bit of both to be honest. For instance, Fullmetal Alchemist, Hellsing, and Attack on Titan,
level 1
Manga of course! simply because I bask reading and anime is just too time consuming.
level 1
Reading is just soo much faster and less time consuming so I don't really watch anime anymore
level i
Usually manga commencement cuz it's almost always better (with a few exceptions).
If I like it enough I picket the Anime like a few weeks after I'm washed with the manga
level 1
Manga.
I mean unless information technology's an original anime or adjusted from other sources, the manga will about always be better.
level one
I haven't watched anime since I've started reading manga, except for the occasional film
level two
I usually simply watch anime that doesn't take a manga, like cowboy bebop or ghost in the crush. Simply I have watched fma and dbz before I started regularly reading manga
